DREAMY BLUE DELIGHT
FEATURED ON THE 2021 SHOWCASE OF REMODELED HOMES TOUR.
Remodels take vision…and a leap of faith! This 1970’s home was ready for its second act and the new homeowners were ready to create their dream home.
At Amdahl Const. we like to relabel rooms and give them a new function vs. having to always add space with additions. For this remodel we combined the formal dining room and the small kitchen to create a much larger kitchen space. We anchored the kitchen cabinet feature wall with 2 new large tip out windows and a new patio door. The dining space is now in the previous dinette area and the homeowners gained a kitchen island.
With the moving of walls we also gave the mudroom less function (in a good way)! We moved the washer and dryer from the back entry into its own newly created laundry room. The back mudroom now has a more open feeling vs. being jamb packed. The main floor bath has fresh vintage tile, a new vanity and a wall mounted faucet. The main floor also received new millwork and we opened up the staircase by removing a wall and adding new stair parts. An older home doesn’t need to feel closed off and full of unused spaces. With some creativity and planning, a older home can feel like the new kid on the block.
